About Gauss Legal
We formed Gauss Legal to bring certainty to big data problems in law. Our software is used by law firms, corporations, and legal service providers managing time, cost, and accuracy across large document sets.
Every matter of any size starts the same way: a great many documents, a deadline, and far too few of those documents that actually matter. The work of finding which ones do is expensive, and most of that expense buys nothing. It is spent reading duplicates, system files, and correspondence nobody needed to see.
Our software narrows that set before anyone starts reading, and organizes what is left so it can be searched, tagged, and produced. The judgment stays with the lawyer. The sorting does not need to.
How we think about it

- Our software is not licensed to practice law and is not a substitute for a lawyer. It helps you work through your data faster; the conclusions are yours.
- Careful with AI
- We use generative AI where it genuinely helps: summarizing documents, surfacing personal information, making search behave sensibly. We are explicit about where it is used, and we do not claim accuracy that no one in this field can honestly promise.
- Least data, least time
- We keep client data only as long as the work requires, and you decide how long that is. Holding data we no longer need serves nobody.
